Disappointing. : Boss 750DI In-Dash Digital Media Receiver iPod Dock (Black)
I was initially thrilled to find a headunit that had a built-in iPod dock. Despite my concerns about the off-brand nature of Boss, I went ahead and purchased the 750DI. When it came time to install, I quickly discovered that the stereo didn't have adequate mounting hardware. In fact, it had no mounting hardware at all. Worse yet was the fact that the headunit doesn't even have holes on the side by which I could secure it to ANYTHING. In addition to the fact that I had no possible way of fastening the headunit to car is that the Boss 750DI is simply too large to fit in my stock bezel. Now I understand that it's not uncommon to modify or trim stock interior pieces to accommodate a new stereo, but this wasn't even a remote possibility for me given how obscenely large this unit is.
In sum, I had no possible way of installing this the Boss 750DI without extensive modification to my car -- modification that would have been costly and detrimental to resale value. Needless to say, I returned this unit immediately in exchange for a more reliable and higher quality brand. What a headache.
My suggestion: Stay away from Boss products unless you're absolutely sure an installation is possible without extensive modification to your car. Two thumbs down.
